I am writing to recommend Dan Ryan, Esq. as an attorney well versed in representing clients in the area of construction defect litigation.
I am the president of the [Redacted] Homeowners Association in San Luis Obispo, CA. We discovered some major defects in the construction of our newly built homes. A decision was made to file suit against our developer and builder. Dan came recommended to us by an attorney in Arizona and he agreed to take our case.
We were very pleased with Dan’s knowledge, experience and professionalism. The teams of experts that he brought in to evaluate our issues were very efficient and effective in identifying the problems and assessing the repairs needed. His office was responsive to communication. Dan made sure that our membership was informed and clear on what needed to be done and why.
We were satisfied with the settlement that was negotiated, enabling us to make full repairs.
The process is neither short nor easy, but I have no doubt that Dan would be a tireless advocate for you in your pursuit of a fair judgement.
Sincerely yours,
Rob S.
HOA President
"Our HOA of 80 condos suffered systemic water intrusion damage due to construction defects. Dan Ryan came highly recommended and our experience with him through our litigation process demonstrated he was knowledgeable, readily available for consultation, a great communicator and advisor. Our HOA Board had no experience with this type of claim and learned we could trust Dan to educate and assist us. We are now in the reconstruction phase with great relief!"

"Our 32-unit HOA in West Hollywood was suffering for several years with developer defects which caused us a great amount of financial stress. Dan Ryan put together a team for testing and coordinated with the unit owners to get it done seamlessly. His knowledge of the industry helped us to begin the process and work through it to the end. Not only did he negotiate a favorable settlement, but also gave us the much needed guidance to get started with the work."

"Our town home complex had construction defects, and while our HOA board worked with a construction defect firm, we were dissatisfied with the lack of attention and expertise. The board sought out other firms that specialized in construction defects and after meeting with a few, because of his stellar expertise, we decided to contract with Dan Ryan.
Throughout our time with Dan, he followed through with everything he promised. He was dependable and consistent with his communication to the board. He listened carefully to our concerns and addressed each concern. His regular reports to the board were honest, detailed, and consistent.
When he hired a company to do the forensics to determine the exact damages and costs, Dan met with all of the homeowners and explained the process. He was receptive to homeowner's concerns and addressed each one with grace and understanding. Recognizing that forensics can be a somewhat disturbing process, Dan was on site for each event, skillfully addressing the board's and all homeowner's concerns. Further, he shared his cell phone number with all residents.
Our complex had a number of seniors that required more handholding and attention than most. One of our residents was wrestling with a terminal illness and shared with Dan that he wanted to make sure his wife was taken care of during the construction as he knew he would not be around. Dan handled the husband's concerns with compassion and sensitivity and more importantly, followed through with his commitment.
Because of Dan's legal brilliance, our HOA was able to proceed with the necessary construction repairs. As promised, Dan helped the HOA locate a construction manager and assisted the board with a future construction contract.
Working with Dan Ryan was a multiyear process and throughout it all, he was readily available, receptive, and true to his word. His vast and unparalleled legal experience with construction defects helped our HOA resolve our construction issues, and I give Dan the highest recommendation."
